I want to be different, then again ...

Sometimes you just want to break the norm
Break free and do something different
You want to write a poem but not about pain or the beauty of nature
You just want to be different
Different for you is reflex
Then you snap back and twist into their expectations
You laugh because you realise that you're doing it again
Trying to conform
But that isn't you
So you continue to write and then you wonder what the reader thinks
Talk to me? What do you think?
That I'm crazy ?
In a normal world you would be right
But I'm not crazy
Just trying to be different
Because nobody ever got a Nobel prize from being a conformist
Or copying the legends before them
What this is I can't say
But it is different
Yes you have to admit
No coherent train of thought or beautiful rhymes
Should I give life limes
Oh that there was a rhyme
Oh look I did it again
Please don't think I'm insane
I'm splitter splatter just like rain
I'm hot hot then beautiful in setting just like the sun
I'm crash crash like the waves
I'm 'oh look I can fly' like the birds , no like an airplane
Different is too normal  an eccentric is too over the top
'I'm me'is too bland
I don't want to be all brown just like sand
So fairy godmother if you're there
Do me a favour
Wave your wand
I want to know
Do I speak to you
Ya feel me?
Talk to me.
